Fortezza da Basso, Conference & Exhibition Centre
City Centre

The ECAMP13 Conference will be held in Fortezza da Basso, located just a few minutes by foot from the Florence’s central train station.

A unique location in the heart of Florence and a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, the Fortezza da Basso was designed by Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane and commissioned by Alessandro de’ Medici, the first Duke of Florence. It was built between 1534 and 1536 and has been the main Conference & Exhibition Centre venue in Florence and central Italy since 1967.

This venue combines perfectly restored historic locations, such as the Area Monumentale, the Teatrino Lorenese and the Polveriera, with modern pavilions such as the Spadolini Pavilion and the Cavaniglia Pavilion, opened in 1996, offering a truly unique panorama with 16th-century walls on one side of the architectural complex.

Access for individuals with reduced mobility is guaranteed within all the public areas of the venue.
